The reason I felt it was important to be specific about who this page is for is because I noticed that most marketers are NOT writers. In my opinion this is something that should be corrected.
Bloggers and Websites Need Marketers
If you are a blogger or own a website often times you will need two things. 1. Traffic, 2. Content for your business to get noticed or for a webmaster to get visitors. The secret sauce is to have content and this content can come in the form of videos, webinars, ebooks, pdfs, podcasts, articles, press releases, blogs, or social networking posts.
Some content publishing platforms include: article directories and business network sites like Apsense. You can also outsource your lead generation and referral marketing to service providers on sites like Fiverr.
Are you using content marketing to get referrals? Are you using content marketing to get leads? Are you using content marketing to get sign-ups?
If you are not then I would recommend you start. It is simple to do and it will make a difference when you use writing sites as your place to promote your business opportunity or affiliate links.
As I mentioned before most marketers are not writers and most bloggers are not marketers so this is where the two should come together to create great articles for the web instead of sales pages.
Content Marketing Should Replace Squeeze Pages and Sales Funnels
Digital marketers are often buying advertising to promote web pages on the web. It is an effective strategy. That funnels prospects and leads into a sales funnel then captures those names and emails into an autoresponder which then sends follow-up emails to convert those leads into sales. It has been proven that this method of marketing is efficient and consistently successful.
My hope is that the hard selling, upsales and sales funnels can soften to include content marketing, content publishing and articles written to educate the reader for building relationships that will be long lasting. I think that paid advertising methods along with SEO strategies using keywords are all great marketing techniques.
Hopefully the internet marketing landscape will change more to fit conversations and discussions about what to do with keeping a higher rate of retention among those leads and referrals. My solution is to create content that is engaging, inspirational and educational.
